Yvan Baker, MP "Our seniors need us now more than ever.
My office has been receiving calls and emails asking about grocery delivery options for seniors, especially low-income seniors, so that they don’t have to leave their homes and worry about putting their health at risk.
A group of volunteers has banded together to lend a neighbourly hand to low-income seniors. And they can help out in Etobicoke Centre!
The UHN OpenLab’s Friendly Neighbour Hotline can help low-income seniors by picking up groceries, household essentials and food bank items during this difficult time.
Over 1,100 volunteers have stepped forward to join the Hotline and aid our seniors living in low-income housing across Toronto.
To engage this service, you can:
1. Call the toll-free hotline, available in multiple languages, at 1-855-581-9580; or
2. Order online with the volunteer service: https://bit.ly/34z1KY0
Thank you to the volunteers and to the UHN OpenLab for their dedicated public service!
