This
is going to be a fantastic show! I went to see Edgar in Toronto on the Rockin'
Blues tour and he blew me away! Arena quality huge show, but very personable.
Edgar is playing at his peak and is having a great time! It shows and his
enthusiasm spreads throughout the audience. Kim Simmonds of Savoy Brown opened
the show and won the crowd from the first note! Everyone was talking about him
after his first set. I promise this to be one of the best shows Zapp! has
presented yet!
EDGAR WINTER is a powerhouse performer. His stage energy and talent is unmatched. He is a world class keyboardist, saxophonist, percussionist and vocalist. By the time he was in his twenties, he was an international commercial success with the number one hit "Frankenstein" and the Rock Anthem "Free Ride". Released in 1973, They Only Come Out at Night peaked at the number 3 position on the Billboard Hot 200 and stayed on the charts for an impressive 80 weeks. It was certified gold in April 1973 and double platinum in November 1986.
Edgar is a prolific writer. Over the years he has kept busy working and appearing in film, television and releasing original material. He has toured regularly with his own band as well as The Ringo Starr Allstar Band. Edgar brings a band with him that matches his talent and energy.

they are both very personable down to earth people.
KIM SIMMONDS of Savoy Brown....Legendary... a Blues/Rock institution... True Innovators. These are just a few of the ways Savoy Brown has been described over the past forty years by music critics and fans.
One of the earliest of British Blues Bands, Savoy Brown, with founder guitarist Kim Simmonds at the helm, helped launch the 1967 UK blues boom movement that brought blues music back to the USA invigorating the style forever. In the process, the band became part of the framework that launched the rock and roll music of the 1970's. Their influence stretches into modern rock as we know it today. Classic releases such as Blue Matter, Lookin' In, Jack the Toad, Street Corner Talkin' and Hellbound Train (which reached #34 on the Billboard charts) still sell well today.
In the fall Kim played at the Blues Rock Festival in Toronto with Johnny Winter, Edgar Winter and Rick Derringer (Edgar's top notch band will be backing Kim on his set, much to Kim's delight). He is a legend who's exceptional guitar playing has gotten better over the years. Kim Simmonds of Savoy Brown's set includes all the classic songs that you want to hear, played better than ever.

Etobicoke Mandarin MS Walk
Warren Horowitz
lives in Toronto and has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis for many years.
This year, he decided to give back to the community and joined the volunteer
committee for the 2013 Etobicoke Mandarin MS Walk.
Warren often tells people “I
was not born with this disease and I hope I do not die with it”. Warren
believes it is important that he donate his time to coordinate events, like the
Etobicoke Walk, to help raise funds so that a cure or vaccine for MS can be
found in his lifetime. Warren likes to compare MS to polio. Not too long ago,
millions of people were afflicted with this disease and many would die from it.
Today, polio has been eradicated. Warren says “Wouldn’t it be amazing if the
same could be said about MS 40 or 50 years from now?”
Canadians have one
of the highest rates of multiple sclerosis in the world and it is often
diagnosed in men and women between the ages of 15 -40.
To support
Ontarians who are affected by MS – the MS Society will host their annual walk in
Etobicoke on Sunday May 5, 2013. This walk helps those people in our community
affected by MS by raising money for vital research, demonstrating a show of
community support and raising awareness of this disease.

YORKDALE SHOPPING CENTRE ANNOUNCES $331 MILLION EXPANSION
Fall 2016 retail addition will add nearly 300,000 square feet to Canada’s premier shopping destination
– Yorkdale Shopping
Centre, one of Canada’s leading shopping destinations, today announced a new
298,000 square foot retail expansion that will be complete in the Fall of 2016.
Construction of Yorkdale’s new retail expansion will begin in January
2014.
Yorkdale has a track-record for being the entry point for
international retailers entering the Canadian market. The new expansion will be
anchored by a 188,000 square foot Nordstrom store. It will also house a diverse
range of other retailers that will be announced closer to the expansion’s
completions.
“This isn’t a matter of ‘if you build it, they will come’.
International brands and enthusiastic shoppers are flocking to Yorkdale and
we’re growing to meet market demands,” said Anthony Casalanguida, General
Manager, Yorkdale Shopping Centre. “The new expansion makes it possible for us
to continue to provide the very best experience for our shoppers by bringing in
the most in-demand retailers from around the world.”
“We continue to be impressed by how Oxford and AIMCo are
taking steps to make an already great centre even better. We feel fortunate to
be part of this expansion at such a strong location, and look forward to the
chance to compete for our customers’ business when we open at Yorkdale,” said
Karen McKibbin, President of Nordstrom Canada.
This expansion comes hot on the heels of a $220 million and
145,000 square foot development that opened to the public in November 2012 and
featured five first-to-Canada brands. Yorkdale is adding six additional
new-to-Canada brands in 2013 including AllSaints, David Yurman, John Varvatos, Mulberry, White House|Black
Market and Zara Home.
Owned by Oxford Properties
Group and AIMCo, Yorkdale Shopping Centre has undergone four major
renovations since opening in 1964. Yorkdale
Shopping Centre completed a $110
million dollar expansion
in 2005. Since then, the shopping centre has continued to improve its facilities
and today serves as the unrivalled gateway for international retailers entering
the Canadian market.

BUTTERFLY PENNANT - 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM - Special Guest Instructor Jen Starr
Instructor: Jen Starr
In this Creative Workshop, you will explore stunning mixed media techniques to create effects that sparkle and shimmer while you make a one-of-a-kind 1 x 3 foot butterfly-themed pennant for your wall! You will be working with mists and Jen's line of Dimensional Crystal paints from Art Anthology, plus a variety of goodies from Viva Décor to add details. Your finished project will be so full of dimension and texture that the butterflies will seem to come to life! (Note: the word "CREATE" on the pennant can be changed if you have a different word that you would prefer instead.)
Please bring: a paintable adhesive (such as gel medium, Ranger's Multi Medium, or Mod Podge - also available at Bizzy B's if you don't have any), a container for water, and a variety of paint brushes, a palette knife if you have one, scissors for detail cutting and/or craft knife, half-inch strong double-sided tape, and a roll of paper towels and/or baby wipes. You may also want to bring a box to carry your project home in case your butterflies need more drying time.
