FALL 2015 “RAGTIME - THE MUSICAL”

n 1994, Canadian theatrical producer Garth Drabinsky secured permission to musicalize E.L. Doctorow's epic novel, RAGTIME. Director Frank Galati and choreographer Graciela Daniele joined the creative team, and after a successful workshop in Toronto, a concept recording of the show was released. The positive buzz continued to build. 

The show first opened in Toronto in December of 1996, to overwhelmingly positive reviews. 


The first American production of RAGTIME premiered in Los Angeles in June of 1997, where work continued, and the show finally arrived on Broadway on January 18, 1998. RAGTIME initially garnered 13 Tony Award nominations, the most of any show that season, and won four.
